How To Transfer Domain Name Ownership
Every Domain Name has a Registrant and a Registrant Contact. While this may sound redundant, they play two very different roles.
The Registrant is the legal owner of the Domain Name and the Registrant Contact is the one who has access to use and manage the Domain. This means that:
- An individual, company, or organisation can be both Registrant and Registrant Contact.
- But, as the Registrant, you can choose to assign a different individual, company, or organisation as your Registrant Contact to handle domain management on your behalf.

However, if you want to transfer the ownership of your Domain Name to a new Registrant, you have to complete a Transfer of Ownership Form, which can be downloaded via your Account Manager using the steps below:
IMPORTANT. gTLD domains (e.g., .com, .net, .co) no longer require a Change of Ownership form. To update ownership details for your gTLD domain, please follow the steps provided in this link.
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- Find the domain that you want to transfer ownership of and select the "Manage".
- Go to "Administration" from the top menu.
- On the Administration page, hover over the Registrant Contact section.
- Click "Change Owner" next to the registrant contact option.
- Scroll down and download the Change of Domain Ownership form.
- Fill out, print, and sign the form, then send it to [email protected].
Note: Listed fees must be cleared before we can process the change. Once your application is approved, you will receive a confirmation by email. The processing time is up to 5 days.
Alternatively, you can send your form request directly through our Contact Form page by following these steps:
- Go to Crazy Domains Contact Form Page.
- Fill out the required information. Refer to the guide below:
- Select Department: Select "Support"
- Category: Select "Domains"
- Your Name, Domain or Customer ID: Enter your name, domain or customer ID associated with your request
- Your Email: Enter the registered email or an active email address.
- Phone Number: Enter an active contact number
- Your Subject: Enter "Request Change of Domain Transfer of Ownership"
- Please provide full details of your enquiry here: State the details of your change of domain transfer ownership request.
- Attach File: Attach the completely filled out Domain Transfer of Ownership form.
- Click Send Email.
Congratulations! You have just transferred your Domain Name Ownership to a new Registrant.
